How much does a website cost in Pakistan? What actually changes the price
There is no single price for “a website”. Two quotes can describe very different work. Here is what moves the price, and how to compare proposals fairly.
The short answer
A website in Pakistan can cost anything from very little to a very large amount, because “a website” can mean a five-page brochure or a custom platform with accounts, payments and integrations. The price follows the scope: how many pages, what the site must do, who writes the content, and what it connects to.
What drives the price of a website
Most of the difference between quotes comes from a handful of factors. If two proposals disagree, check these first.
| Factor | Why it changes the price | Question to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Number and type of pages | Each page type needs design, content and testing. A template page is faster than a custom layout. | How many unique page layouts are included? |
| Features | Booking, memberships, search, calculators and multi-language add design and development work. | Which features are included, and which are extras? |
| Platform | WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce and custom builds have different costs to build and to run. | Why this platform for my business? |
| Integrations | Payments, couriers, accounting, CRM and ERP connections need setup and testing. | Which systems are connected, and who tests them? |
| Content and images | Writing, photography and translation are separate work from design. | Who writes the text and supplies the images? |
| Migration | Moving an existing site means mapping URLs, redirects and content. | How will my current search visibility be protected? |
Typical project types and what they involve
A small business website
A handful of pages (home, services, about, contact) on a platform your team can edit, with a contact form and the basics of search optimisation. The main cost is design and content, not technology. See website design and WordPress.
An online store
A store needs product pages, a catalogue structure, a checkout, payment methods, delivery options and often a connection to couriers or accounting. It costs more than a brochure site because there is more to build and to test. Our guide to Shopify vs WooCommerce explains how the platform choice affects cost.
A custom website or platform
Client portals, booking logic, calculators and multi-location features are built around your workflow. Cost depends on how much of the business logic lives in the site. See custom websites.
A redesign or migration
Redesigning an existing site adds audit, URL mapping and redirect work so that you do not lose search visibility. Read planning a website redesign without losing your SEO.
Costs people forget to compare
A fair comparison includes what happens after launch, not only the build.
- Domain name and renewal. See domain registration.
- Hosting, and whether it is included. See web hosting.
- Business email on your own domain. See business email.
- Paid themes, plugins and apps, many of which renew every year and are often billed in US dollars, so their cost in rupees can change with the exchange rate.
- Maintenance, security and backups. See website maintenance.
- Content updates after launch, and who does them.
How to compare proposals fairly
- Ask each provider for a list of deliverables in plain language: pages, features, integrations, content, testing.
- Ask what is excluded, and what would be charged as an extra.
- Ask who owns the domain, hosting account, design files and code when the project ends.
- Ask how changes after launch are handled and priced.
- Ask how search visibility is protected, especially if you already have a website.
- Ask for the timeline and what the provider needs from you to keep to it.
A very low quote is not automatically a bargain: it may leave out content, integrations, testing or ownership. A very high quote is not automatically better quality. The proposal that explains what you get and why is usually the safer one.
Frequently asked questions
Is a cheap template website enough for my business?
It can be, if your needs are simple: a few pages, a contact form and no special features. It becomes expensive when you need something the template does not do, so check the limits before you start.
Who should own the website and domain?
You should. Make sure the domain is registered in your business’s name and that you receive the hosting logins, design files and code. We register domains in the owner’s name; see domain registration.
Do I pay monthly after the website is built?
Often there are ongoing costs: hosting, domain renewal, email, and optional maintenance. Ask for them to be listed separately from the build cost so you can compare like with like.
How long does a website take to build?
It depends on scope and on how quickly content and approvals arrive. Ask for a timeline that states what you must supply and when.
What should I send to get an accurate quote?
A description of what the site must do for your business, examples of sites you like, whether you already have content and branding, and which systems it must connect to. You can send this through our project brief.
